The Jean Monnet International School 2025 has ended: three days of new ideas, European solutions and environmental perspectives

On March 21, 2025, the final stage of the annual Jean Monnet International Online School "Effective Eco-Management for the European Future of Ukraine" took place.

The School's events were held within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ Program projects "EU Renewable Energy Strategy as a Guide for Ukraine" and "Effective Waste Management in the EU - the Best Choice for Ukraine", which are implemented at the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management of the National University of Chemical Technology.

The School's work was attended by graduating students, representatives of student youth from colleges and universities, teachers, lecturers of higher educational institutions, and everyone interested in the European future of Ukraine and its sustainable development.

Today's speakers were members of the Jean Monnet international project teams JM RE and JM REW.


Oksana Salavor, coordinator of the Jean Monnet JM RE and JM REW projects, associate professor of the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management, gave a report on the features of effective waste management in the EU. The participants were interested in specific examples of waste use in EU countries.

Member of the Jean Monnet JM RE and JM REW project teams, Yulia Voitenko-Palgan, Professor at the International Institute of Industrial Environmental Economics, Lund University, Sweden, focused her presentation on nature-based solutions for sustainable cities. Ms. Yulia answered numerous questions from the School participants and her team colleagues.

Oksana Nychyk, a member of the Jean Monnet JM RE and JM REW project teams, associate professor of the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management, introduced the School participants to the current state, development prospects, and environmental challenges of wind energy for Ukraine and the EU.



Natalia Bublienko, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management, member of the Jean Monnet JM RE and JM REW project team, introduced the attendees to the features of hydrogen energy development in the EU and the prospects for Ukraine.

We sincerely thank all the speakers of the Jean Monnet International School for their deep and informative reports, and the participants for their active participation in the discussions and sincere interest in environmental topics. We hope to meet again at the next events of the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management of the NUCT within the framework of the projects of the EU Erasmus+ Program.
