The Jean Monnet International Online School 2025 has launched: eco-management for Ukraine's European future

Today, March 19, 2025, the annual International Jean Monnet Online School "Effective Eco-Management for the European Future of Ukraine" began its work. The school is taking place within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ Program projects "EU Renewable Energy Strategy as a Guide for Ukraine" and "Effective Waste Management in the EU - the Best Choice for Ukraine", which are implemented at the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management of the NUCT.


On the first day, almost 60 people took part in the School: college students, high school students, science teachers, university lecturers and everyone interested in the European future of Ukraine and its sustainable development. Serhiy Tokarchuk, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the National University of Chemical Technology; Petro Kraynik, Manager of the Jean Monnet Division of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, and Nataliya Hregirchak, Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Environmental Control of the National University of Chemical Technology, delivered welcoming remarks to the participants of the School.

Igor Yakymenko, Head of the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine, Professor, Coordinator of the Jean Monnet ProEU and EcoEurope projects, outlined the European integration strategy of the Department of Ecology and Eco-Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine and the prospects for training qualified ecologists.

Yevhen Lukashevych, head of PrJSC "Ukrainian Technology Company", member of the Jean Monnet JM REW project team, active participant in all events of our department, presented a report on modern solutions for ecological processing of agricultural raw materials and organic waste in Ukraine: potential and prospects.

The audience was very interested in the report by Lyudmila Tsyganok, President of the Association of Environmental Professionals (PAEW), who introduced the School participants to the prospects for specialists in green professions. Ms. Lyudmila focused on how to be in demand and what employers expect from representatives of our profession.

The work of the Jean Monnet International School continues, so we invite all interested people to join us tomorrow. It will be interesting and informative!
